The Command Station

The command station contains the brains to the home security system along with a built-in siren, built-in keypad, and backup battery. In an emergency, you can press the panic button on the command station and our monitoring facility will dispatch the authorities to your home. The command station connects to both a power outlet and a telephone jack. All of the other home security system equipment pieces are completely wireless. Alarm Zone offers you the choice of two GE Home Security System command stations, the GE Simon XT and the GE Simon 3.

Sensors and Additional Equipment

Alarm Zone recommends protection of all external doors through the use of micro sensors. The windows can also be protected with micro sensors on each window. If you prefer not to protect each window, we recommend using a wireless motion detector in a main living area of the home. The home security system has additional equipment available including keychain remote controls, secret keypads, glass break detectors, garage door sensors, and medical panic pendants.

Sensors

Home security door and window sensors will detect if a door or window is open. Most break-ins occur through a door, so Alarmzone recommends that you put a sensor on every outside door. You can put a sensor on each window, but it will only detect if the window is opened so Alarmzone recommends using a motion detector inside the home as a backup just in case someone gets inside through a window.
